Bloggers, Would You Please Use Spellcheck?
I am getting more and more annoyed by the number of grammar and spelling errors that I am encountering in blogs authored by professional bloggers. I'm not talking about the occasional typo or misplaced comma. I'm talking about glaring mistakes in headlines, paragraphs in which every single apostrophe is misplaced, and misspellings that the most simplistic of word processing programs would catch. All of this has led me to believe that there are actually a significant number of so-called professional bloggers out there who don't check their work before they publish.
Really, is it so hard to read over your content before you publish it? And if it really is just too much work for you to read through your post to check for errors, then what makes you think that anyone else should take the time to read it?
Please, give your readers the respect of at least making a decent attempt at correcting your work. If someone has taken time out of their busy day to read your content, the least you can do is try to make it as clean and easy to read as possible. Be a professional and check your spelling!

Sarah - I totally agree; I wrote about the same issue a while back - http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/bad-grammar-on-a-blog-is-like-a-dirty-toilet-in-a-restaurant
Cheers
I am THAT blogger who neglects the following: editting, proof reading, spell check, etc, etc! I am seeking to amend my ways--but sometimes, just getting the content out there for my friends and family is more important, but my terrible writing habits do distract from the reader experience. Thanks for the post, and keep up the great work! Hope England is treating you more than well-Cheers!
Sarah is 100% right here. Another good reason to use a spell checker is that because of typos you can wrongly wright important keywords, which makes your blog/post harder to find via search engines. I can offer to all bloggers our new and open source online spell checker. I think there are also modules for WordPress, which will make life of a blogger even easier!
